music 4 the road 11 - louder than words. Pink Floyd, The Endless River Tour.

Pink Floyd will always hold a special place in my heart. They were a band that I listened to during my time in college, and still do today. I have many special memories of the friends that I made during that time and the music that brought us together. Great memories! Hope this brings back memories for all of you out there too!

"Pink Floyd has released a striking video for ‘Louder Than Words,’ just as the song begins arriving worldwide on ‘The Endless River‘ today. The track is the only one with a vocal on the band’s new album, which will most likely be the final Pink Floyd studio project."

You can watch the new ‘Louder Than Words’ video below.

today's beer of the day 19 - Kolsch 151. @bluemtnbrewery #kolschstylebeer #coldagedale

Today on TBD 19 - Blue Mountain Brewery's Kolsch 151, cold aged ale.

"A light German-style ale indigenous to Cologne. This ale is treated like a lager, undergoing extensive cold aging to produce a clean, crisp beer. German Pilsen and Vienna malts and Hallertau region hops lend a balanced flavor to our lightest beer."

As you pour it into the glass you will note the light honey color of the beer. It has a copious head and plenty of carbonation as well. There is a subtle malty flavor, with some sweetness to is as well. It is smooth and light, it does remind me of a lager somewhat. It feels crisp and clean with a light bitterness to it as you take your first drink. It registers an 18 on the IBU scale, thus the subtle bitterness. Overall this was a good beer, my only beef is that it didn't have quite as much flavor as I would have liked. It also has a 5.0% on the ABV scale, so a little better than the average beer and a few would do you. Give it a try and let me know what you think, enjoy.

weekly video xxvii - Robbie Maddison's drop in.

Wow, Robbie Maddison really delivers! He has some big shoes to fill though, being compared to Evel Kneviel is no joke. Check out this killer ride up the mountain and then the jump at the end. I think you'll be saying "WOW" as well.

"Modern-day Evel Kneviel Robbie "Maddo" Maddison rips his dirt bike up the Olympic bobsled track at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah, then promptly rallies to the top of the olympic ski jumping complex, drops in, pins it up to 71 mph, and then boosts into space–touching back down to Earth 374 feet farther out, and 185 farther down, from where he left the ground. This might be the first time anyone on two wheels has legally qualified as a Low Earth Orbit Object."

music 4 the road - 10. @okgo #iwontletyoudown #hungryghosts

Today on M4R - 10. Ok Go, "I Won't Let You Down". From the album Hungry Ghosts.

I saw this and thought, wow! The band Ok Go really knows how to make a music video. Notice the stunning choreography, camera angles and the complex routine. Apparently, it's done in a single shot as well, which is even more incredible because of what the band is doing while they're singing.

In this new video, which is shot in Japan, you'll notice that they use drones to get amazing aerial shots and they also use these new Honda vehicles called UNI-CUBs. The Uni-Cub is essentially a self-balancing unicycle that users can ride by shifting their upper body. It also has a smaller wheel behind the main drive wheel that helps with steering and stability, this was obviously needed for OK Go to spin in circles in their video. My favorite part is at the end when the drone flies up 700 meters and you see the crowd and the images they produce with their umbrellas. Check it out and I think you'll enjoy the video as much as I did!

today's beer of the day - 18. @bluemtnbrewery #darkhollow #imperialstout #barrelhouseseries

Today on TBD - 18. Blue Mountain Brewery's, Dark Hollow Imperial Stout - Barrel House Series.

"Dark Hollow blends the miracle of two crafts–brewing and distillation–to create a work greater than the sum of its parts. An Imperial Stout has been aged in charred American oak bourbon barrels still dripping with uncut whiskey. For 100 days the young beer patiently breathes in and out of the wood, gaining complexity, character, and serious attitude. Can be enjoyed immediately, or five years later, when you dust off the last vintage bottle from your cellar to share with good company. Available as long as each batch lasts, November-April."

Since Halloween was last week I thought that this was a fitting beer to review today. My impression of this beer is that it is lovely, dark and deep. Sorry for waxing poetic but I mean it really is dark! When you first pour it you will notice how dark and rich it appears. It has a fair head and was so dark I could not determine if there were any carbonation bubbles present in the glass. There is a hint of the oaky bourbon in the aroma of this beer. This is a thick syrupy beer that has flavors of chocolate, bourbon and a slight coffee flavor as well. It is a smooth beer with some bitter accents, it has an IBU rating of 70 but you don't notice it as much due to its smooth drinkability. This was a GOOD beer, yummy! However at 13 dollars a bottle it is a bit pricy and I would not drink one of these every week but on special occasions I would definitely spring for another. Oh, and at 10% ABV you will notice that your drinking a beer with some kick. I recommend that you pick one up and give it a try I think you'll like it, enjoy!
